    Vernon Kilns 1940s Souvenir Collector Plate Honolulu Before Hawaii Statehood
    Collector plate honoring the city of Honolulu featuring various landmarks and scenery, including Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach, Aloha Tower, hula dancers, pineapple and sugar plantations, the Pali, Iolani Palace, statue of King Kamehameha, and the former residence of Queen Liliuokalani.
    Printed on the reverse side of the plate are four important dates in Honolulu's history: Discovery by Captain Cook 1773, Provisional Government Established 1893, Republic of Hawaii Established 1894, and Hawaii Annexed to the US 1898.
    This plate is in very good condition, with only one chip on the edge (see photos for details)
    The brown color is bright and the finish is shiny. There are 3 glaze misses on the back which appear to be from the original firing when the plate was sitting on stilts.
